How Mid-Plate Water Treatment Works

The PureVita Mid-Plate Water Softener combines two different treatment processes inside one system.

Ion Exchange Softening

As water passes through the softening resin, calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions held by the resin.

This removes the minerals responsible for hard water, providing softened water throughout your home.

When the resin reaches capacity, the system automatically regenerates by flushing away the collected hardness minerals and recharging the resin with a brine solution.

Carbon Filtration

The system's additional carbon media provides a second form of water treatment, helping reduce chlorine and improve unwanted tastes and odors.

The mid-plate design keeps the treatment media properly configured within the system, allowing carbon filtration and ion-exchange softening to work together while performing different jobs.
